Survivor Community Specialist

40 hours/week
$37,500/annual salary

The Survivor Community Specialist works with LGBTQ+ individuals that have been impacted by violence to offer support and advocacy, provide outreach to diverse LGBTQ+ communities in Virginia, and support community outreach to help educate allied professionals to better serve the needs of LGBQ+, Transgender and Nonbinary individuals that have been impacted by violence.

Lx Especialistx de la comunidad de sobrevivientes trabaja con individuos LGBTQ+ que han sido afectadxs por la violencia para ofrecer apoyo y defensoría; proporcionar alcance con diversas comunidades LGBTQ+ de Virginia; y apoyarel acercamiento comunitario con el fin de ayudar a educar a profesionales aliadxs y que de esta manera puedan atender mejor las necesidades de las personas LGBTQ+, transgénero y no binarias que han sido afectadas por la violencia.

Board Positions

VAVP is looking for passionate, experienced members of the community to join our board. We are committed to supporting leadership from within oppressed communities including, but not limited to, Communities of Color (esp. Black, Indigenous and Latine/x), the Transgender community, folx with a Disability, and youth. Individuals who identify as such are strongly encouraged to reach out. 

Current board roles needed include Co-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and other General Members. Interested individuals should fill out and submit the form below to info@virginiaavp.org.
