The Virginia Anti-Violence Project (VAVP) proudly announces its Fall 2023 fundraising gala, Not Your GAYla: Prom Night!
Set to take place on November 4, 2023, at 6:30 PM at the exquisite venue–The Winery at Bull Run, located at 15950 Lee Hwy, Centreville, VA 20120.
This event promises an unforgettable evening of empowerment, inclusivity, and celebration while supporting a crucial cause.
A Night to Remember
Over 50% of LGBTQ+ students do not attend their proms for fear of being judged or harassed. More than 80% of transgender youth report feeling unsafe or uncomfortable attending school dances. “Not Your GAYla: Prom Night” is more than just a gala; it’s an opportunity for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies to come together in an environment where authenticity is celebrated. The event aims to rewrite the narrative surrounding prom by providing a safe and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.
